Dearly Dangerous Damiano's Defense Drives Down Duo with Two More Wins

I won two more games with my Damiano's Defense last night. The only
time recently where I have lost a game with this Dangerous Defense was
when Grandmaster Smirin eked out a win against.

Last night was a gala event given by Steve Immitt to celebrate the
25th Anniversary of him holding these events every Thursday night, and
also to introduce the players to the new venue at the New Yorker Hotel
on 34th Street in 8th Avenue. These events will no longer be held at
the Marshall Chess Club. Steve Immitt handed out awards to those who
had been with him for most of those 25 years, including players who
had played every single week. He also awarded trophies and mixed
doubles prizes as a result of which an exceptional number of beautiful
women came to compete. This experiment was successful and should be
repeated.

Here are my games from the event. Note that I won both games with
Damiano's Defense. I lost my two games as white with 1. g4 but in both
games I had the advantage in the opening.

"Eked out"? Sam, he crushed you like a cigaret butt. As for the game
below, it is a travesty. White missed about a dozen chances to blow
you away, including a forced mate, and the final position is probably
drawn.

The game went on for another 30 moves. He thought himself down until
he had only 5 seconds left. Then he offered me a draw and hung a rook
simultaneously. Then he made me play to checkmate with king and queen
against king, no pawns, even though he had only five seconds left and
I had more than ten minutes left.

Altogether a convincing win for Black.

Are these your ideas or have you checked them with a computer? I
respectfully disagree with some of your points.

I am prepared for 9. Bxb7 ! Of course I am not telling you or the
peanut gallery what my answer is.

I would have been very happy of my opponent had played 15. Bxh6+ Then
I simply move 15. ... Kh8 and next I will play 16. ... Bd6 and my
extra piece should eventually overwhelm his three pawns.

I think the move he played was better than 19. d5.

However, I do agree with you that he missed some good moves later,
including a near mate. However, I am not worried as it is unlikely
that anybody will repeat his line.
